The 4 Keys to Breaking Past $10K/Month

If you’re like most online sellers, you’re always looking for ways to increase your sales. And if you’re looking to crack the $10K/month mark, then you’ll want to read on. In this post, we’ll share four keys to help you break past that goal and achieve even more success. So without further ado, let’s get started!

Ecommerce businesses have a lot of potential for growth. If you’re looking to take your business to the next level, there are four key things you need to do.

Know Your Target Audience

First, you need to know your target audience. We’re not just talking about demographics – we’re talking about psychographics as well. It’s just as important to know what motivates your audience as it is to know who your audience is.

Let’s get into the mind of the buyer.

Who are you selling to?

What do they want and need?

What are their primary motivations & struggles, and what would cause them to “pull the trigger” on your product?

Once you know this, you can create products and content that appeals to them.

Find your Blue Ocean

Second, find your “Blue Ocean.” If you’ve never heard this term before, it’s good to get familiar with it. Your “blue ocean” is a unique, custom product that no one else can offer.

A lot of sellers find themselves in the “red ocean,” or oversaturated, over-competitive markets. So what sets your product apart, and what puts you (and your business) a cut above the rest?

This can be a unique selling proposition that sets you apart from the competition. Think about your product as a new opportunity, and get started!

Audience building = brand building

Third, focus on audience building BEFORE you launch. Audience building should be happening at the same time as your brand building– meaning you’re building pockets of people on your email lists and social channels while trying to expose larger groups of people to your brand.

This is the tried and true path to success to converting visitors to your site or channels. The more people you can get to surround your brand, the better.

Product Before Profit

One big tip: Don’t skimp on the product!

There are many, many reasons to focus on the product on the front end. You need to have a great product to scale your business, because that’s what gets your customers returning, spreading your business via word of mouth, etc.

A rushed product is less likely to ensure these things for you. Yes, you need to make money to stay in business. I’m not saying that you should never think about profit, but we’re in this for the long haul and a better product, in the beginning, will save you a lot of money, time, and heartache.

Here’s the truth: It’s not going to be easy.

There’s a lot of hard work involved in creating a great product and building an audience. But if you’re willing to put in the effort and care, the payoff can be huge.

By following these four steps, you can take your e-commerce business to the next level and start scaling up!

Shopify -or- Kickstarter? That is the question!
